Twenty-five
MBA students from the MIT Sloan
School of Management visited Beijing,
Tianjin,
Shanghai and Hong
Kong in March to tour manufacturing facilities, financial institutions,
government agencies and other business organizations. The incredible growth
of this region presents tremendous business opportunities which we were
interested in examining firsthand.
Students
participating in the trip were required to take the Business
in China's Emerging Market course (15.228) taught by Prof.
Edward S. Steinfeld.
By setting up a permanent web site for the trip,
we hope we can share the experience of our trip with the rest of the MIT
community and others who are interested in the region. We also hope
this site will serve as a reference for those who will plan similar trips
in the future.
