Club Purpose

The purpose of the MIT Graduate Soccer Club is to provide the opportunity for students at MIT to participate in a competitive soccer league. The club is for dedicated players who desire a higher level of competition than what is available through the intramural program. The team competes in local amateur soccer leagues that offer a level of competition similar to that of the varsity program at MIT. Team activities include coached practice sessions and league matches.

Competition/Tournaments

We compete in the first division of the Bay State Soccer League (BSSL).   You can see our standing in the current table here .   Our most recent tropies include winning the cup tournament in 2007, and the league in 2004 and 2001. In 2010 we reached the finals of the cup tournament that will be played in November.

For Prospective Players

We are always looking for dedicated, skilled players (MIT affiliates only) who are interested in joining the team. We typically have several roster openings at the beginning of each season (Fall, Spring, and Summer). We do not have an official try-out period. Instead, we ask anyone interested in joining the team to attend our practices, and introduce yourself to the club officers. We'll be happy to have you practice with us and get to know the team. Roster spots are filled from the practice squad as they come available based on team needs and demonstrated skill and commitment.
