(sorry, i'm confused what day we came up with....if any for this event) Jumaane to talk to housemates to get the event moving. + Possibly change the room so that we have more room than 20 seats. Katie to make posters at the tech and poster. 3) LSC advertising 50 dollars to advertise before an LSC movie during ONE weekend. Decision was made to pay up and do this just before I-fair. 4) Multicultural Events Calender/Newsletter Still exploring the possibility of working with Qian and the tech - Kaz to talk to Qian to see how that's going on. If above doesn't seem like it's going to be done this semester, we can work on it independently. Idea of collating different events from different cultural groups by different Pangaea members signing up to the mailing lists and then formatting the data. 5) Movie nights The general consensus was that we needed something to distinguish ourselves from other clubs, as well as having at least some sort of direction in what we do. The idea is to have monthly themed movie nights on wednesdays (18-25th of each month?). The movies will be either racially provocative (eg. American History X), or about perhaps less well known cultures. (Katie to look into films at the Women's study office). The night will consist of the movie, then food (which is related to the movie...so if it's an indian film, have indian food...) and a discussion around the movie and it's message. Ideas for movies required!! 6) Look at BU/Harvard club sites to see if there are similar clubs, see what kind of events they hold and possibly contact for future cooperation. 7) Immigration Project At Little Kresge this w/e and next. 8) NEXT MEETING SUNDAY 17th at noon? Main agenda for that meeting is to publicise the movie and make sure we have a room for it.
