[Servius's commentary below is relevant to the following lines in Virgil's Aeneid 1.294-6, which represent the Augustan suppression of warfare:

Unholy Furor squats inside on savage weapons
Arms bound behind his back with a hundred chains of bronze,
His mouth foaming with blood.]

"Unholy Furor within." A painting of War was portrayed not in the Temple of Janus, but among others in the Forum of Augustus. It was located on the left as you enter, along with Furor sitting upon weapons, bound up just as Virgil described.
