January 8, 1992 - Libraries' Unix Utilities Pages liblook(1) NAME liblook - utility to display information about MIT Libraries' staff and mailgroups. SYNOPSIS liblook liblook liblook mailgroups DESCRIPTION Liblook checks the MIT Libraries' staff database for all occurrences of the tex t string indicated by 'name'. 'Name'can be a person's first or last nam e, a person's email name, or the name of a library mail group. Personal / athena names: If two names are entered, liblook looks for a direct match of both. If no directmatch is found, liblook displays records matching all occurrences of each name entered. Library mailgroups: If 'name' is the email name of an official library mail group, lib- look displays the full name of the group and the real and email names of the members of the group. mailgroups: The command 'liblook mailgroups' displays a listing of all current 'official' MIT Libraries' mailgroups. Library mailgroups are identified by '-lib' (e.g. the group corresponding to the circulation committee is cir-lib). Core mailgroups will be those groups corresponding to standing committeesof the MIT Libraries. NOTES Liblook will search for and find only members of the MIT Libraries' staff and library mailgroups.
