This OSID implements the Id Manager. In general, most OSIDs provide IDs in response to user requests. Application users may store those IDs as strings, and need to reconstitute them as Ids in order to pass them back to various OSIDs. 

This ID manager generates random GUIDs when asked to provide its own IDs.

It can be used as an ID generator for Hibernate, as well.
