Fractions

x+\frac{x}{2}+\frac{a_2}{\gamma^2}

The following two applets show the different appearance of fractions in \displaystyle and \textstyle.

\displaystyle{

\frac{1-\frac{x}{2}}{x+y}-\frac{x+y}{1-\frac{x}{2}}

}

\frac{1-\frac{x}{2}}{x+y}-\frac{x+y}{1-\frac{x}{2}}

Using delimiters around fractions:

\left( x/20 \right) + \left( \frac{2-x}{z} \right) +

\left( \frac{1-\frac{x}{2}}{x+y} \right)
