AFS support for the remote commands is limited on Solaris 2.3 systems. The rules for using remote commands is different on Solaris 2.3 systems than other operating systems. You should pay special attention to the /etc/shadow file. Our limitations are as follows: - We do not provide an AFS version of rlogind. The reason for not providing an AFS version of rlogind is that because of the Solaris 2.3 feature of a "pluggable" authentication system (their use of libauth.a) we do not have rights to use and redistribute this technology. - Because of this authentication scheme in Solaris 2.3 you will always be prompted for a password on remote commands. - Since we port from BSD based commands we may not have gotten all of the Solaris 2.3 features for remote commands.
