Enabling and Disabling SSL for Consoles

Select: Host > Settings > Connections

You enable and disable SSL for console connections in the console. By default, SSL is enabled for console connections. You must be user to change these settings.

Remember that the certificates used in these secure sessions are not signed by a trusted certificate authority; therefore they do not provide authentication. If you intend to use encrypted remote connections externally, you should consider purchasing a certificate from a trusted certificate authority.

To change the SSL setting for console connections, check or uncheck the Use SSL for Console communication check box.

For more information about using SSL with the console, see the VMware Server manuals.
