Caffeinated Crash Course in C++

Suggested Background or Preparation:

Some programming experience in C or Java and exposure to object-oriented programming concepts. If you don't have these, you won't get anything from the class and should instead explore the resources below.

The examples I'll be using are here.

Online C++ resources:

• Bruce Eckel wrote an excellent book called Thinking in C++. I have mirrored his book here: (Volume 1, Volume 2). He also has an audio-visual seminar, Thinking in C, which may help you prepare to study C++.
• Bjarne Stroustrup invented C++. His website links to many good resources.
• Dinkumware has an excellent C++ standard library reference.
• SGI's STL programmer's guide
• GNU/Linux uses GCC and the GNU libstdc++.
• Boost is an additional set of C++ libraries, some of which may become part of the standard.
• The C++ FAQ Lite is essential C++ reading.
