We were hired by some trollkin, representatives of a trollkin mushroom farming cave, to protect them against their trollish oppressors. We went in and spent close to a week digging/filling pit traps and deadfalls and small-tunnel bottlenecks (and a last-ditch escape route) so that we (and some trollkin) could defend the cave against an unknown number of larger, tougher enemies - only to realize some time later that we had neglected to leave an escape route large enough for the horses.
