We played three games this weekend and came away with a record of 0-3. With the college tournament the following week, we used this chance to gain some experience playing together as a team. We had a rough start in the first game with everyone playing quite poorly. Off-broom deliveries and bad sweeping decisions caused us to quickly fall behind and to eventually lose the first game by a wide margin. Fortunately, we improved from game to game and almost earned a chance to play on Sunday. Dave Fink watched our dramatic third game on Saturday and gave us some helpful encouragement and advice.

Before the coin flip, the opposing skip attempted to affect the outcome of the game by offering free food and beer. For the first half of the game, Dave helped MIT's skip and vice analyze shots in the house. The game was decided in the 9th end where each player was allowed to throw one rock. Red won with a stone biting the back of the house.

Game 3: They had hammer??. Us 1, Blanked end 2, Us 1, us 2, us 1, them 2, them 1, them 2. Game tied at 5 points each. 4 rocks each team for end number 9, the were biting, i had hammer. house entirely open. i was light and ice got slow, game over. As for end 8, i screwed it up. same take outs twice and missed both wide...so that's why we lost those 2 points and the game tied. But it was fun. BTW, Dave was coaching up until we were up by 5 points.

Thanks to Brent Yen and Ray Szeto for their summaries.
