As the semester comes to an end, use of Athena increases and becomes more urgent. Please be considerate and cooperative. Do not play games on workstations when there are people who may want to log in. Do not leave a workstation screensaved for more than 10 minutes. The Rules of Use state that workstations left unattended (whether or not the screens are locked) for more than 20 minutes are subject to being rebooted, or having the users logged out. At the end of this semester, that time has been shortened to 10 minutes. Also, to help ease the workstation shortage during this busy period, two electronic classrooms (1-115 and 14-0637) will be available during certain hours to users in general (not just to those in specific courses). Look for "open hours" in the "SPECIAL EVENTS" section of the schedules, which are in the "info" locker: attach info more /mit/info/Schedules/1-115 more /mit/info/Schedules/14-0637 These classrooms are provided as a courtesy of Academic Computing Services (which is in charge of them) and the Athena Consultants (who make them available by taking responsibility for and monitoring them).
