About your background:

I think you were raised in a high tech monarchy with Brand and Deirdre
as sort of King and Queen and you as heir presumptive.  Let's call the
shadow Talgarath.  You grew up as the golden child who could have
anything she wished, living in great palaces in the sky and the
countryside.  Since Amberites live for a long time, there was never an
sense of urgency about readying yourself to rule someday.  Heck, in some
ways you have the best deal of all with your parents ruling: you get all
the perks and none of the work.

As a you child, both Brand and Deirdre were around great deal and paid a
lot of attention to you.  (Though it was often one or the other, not
both.)

When you were about 16, your parents began their plans to make Talgarath
supercede and ultimately replace Amber in the universe.  Then you truly
would have the universe for the asking...

Brand began teaching you about the Pattern, taking you to the Primal
Pattern to walk it in secret.  Shadowwalking -- and hellriding -- was a
tremendous rush.  [Perhap you developed an appetite for that sort of
power. ?]  Brand also makes you a deck of trump.

Deirdre taught you about your relatives and how to fight.  She gives you
a fine horse, suit of armor, & sword.

Both made frequent trips to Amber and other places (Brand to Chaos, for
instance).  It began to look as though things were going to proceed as
planned:  Oberon had been lured away and imprisoned, plans had put in
motion to obliterate the pattern.  Then Eric's cabal (Eric, Julian,
Caine) siezed power, and Deirdre allowed herself to be captured in order
to watch that group.  

Brand, Fiona and Bleys attempted to obilerate the Pattern by murdering
Martin at its center.  It was never clear what happened here -- one of
Bleys and Fiona was sabatoging this from within, either because they
suspected Brand's duplicity or Chaos's.  Suffice to say that the Pattern
was not destroyed and Martin escaped and the alliance between Bleys,
Fiona and Brand split up, isolating Brand.

It is at about this time that Brand learns of Corwin's whereabouts (from
Eric via Deirdre) and tries to kill him because he has hand a vision in
Tir-na Nog'th that Corwin will be his undoing.

Corwin returns and Deirdre links up with him, ending up in Remba, from
where she contacts you periodically by trump, but does not visit.  

Brand has been imprisoned by Fiona.  Several years pass in Amber --
perhaps six months for you.  You are about 20 now.

Corwin escapes, returns with an army and saves Amber from the forces of
Chaos, though doesn't actually crown himself king.  Brand is rescued,
stabbed, and recovers enough to briefly sieze the jewel of judgement.
Deirdre attaches herself to Corwin's camp, spying for Brand.

Corwin has marshalled the others and attempts to both stop Brand and 
Chaos, thought the real trouble for your parents comes when Oberon
returns.

The last time you saw you father, he has regained the Jewel from Corwin
and was on the verge of realizing his dream.  Then there was nothing for
nearly a month.  You couldn't raise either Brand or Deirdre on trump.  

Finally, a trusted friend of Deirdre's came to Talgarath to tell you they
were both dead.  Killed by Caine, with Fiona's and perhaps Random's
help.   Oberon was also dead and Random was King in a restored Amber
now.  Talgarath was yours now...
