Facilitator's Worksheet

We are going to be helping the IS leaders begin thinking about how to use the Five-Year Plan in their daily work.

First, let me point out that to facilitate means "to make easy, or to lessen the difficulty of" something. In this case, you are being asked to facilitate the discussion--to make it easier for everyone to participate. This may mean that you will have to restrain your own comments, using open-ended questions and waiting to encourage others to speak.

Note that as facilitator, you SHOULD take charge and keep the discussion moving. Do not allow someone to dominate or discourage participation. Do make sure that you aren't the one who is discouraging participation!
