West end of the Room

You are in the west end of a spaceous room, its high vaulted ceiling lit by plain-looking fluorescent lights. To the far north of the chamber is a strange translucent door, through which you can see glints of colored light. To the east of the room is a strange, tubelike structure. To the south of the room, attached to the wall, is a colorful panel. At the middle of the room, there seems to be some thing rising up from the floor.

As far as you can tell, all that distinguishes this part of the room is the ugly neon sign. It's hard to read, as a roach on the floor.
