Question 2

The nerds glance at each other.

"It's probably safe..." says one. "Klogind would've found anything."

"Avoiding our names has probably been over-paranoid," agrees another.

They smile suddenly, and then eagerly begin a round of introductions.

"I'm Alicia P. Sacker," said the nerd who has done most of the talking. "I live in West House, in MIT." "James Florey," says another. "I'm from the Gamma Alpha Gamma House. In fact, I'm still there right now. My roommate's probably thinking I've fallen asleep while MUDding again."

"Actually, me too," says Alicia. "I'd usually be at SIPB, but they get a little annoyed if you stay logged in to a machine for 27 hours without leaving." The others laugh, a little nervously.

The introductions continue...

But the lights suddenly flicker. One of the walls cracks, and bits of strangely metallic pieces of plaster start falling onto the computers.

"Oh, no," says Alicia, with a gasp.

"They've been listening in? For real?" says someone else, in alarm.

"That means they know where we really are!" shouts James. "They can find us ---"

Then he's gone, his connections suddenly cut off. One by one the others disappear; some take a few minutes, but even as they desperately try to logout and leave, even as they frantically try to leave the room, they suddenly vanish.

This leaves you. It only takes them a few hours to find your body ... too bad you never even get to see who pulls your plug.

***You have really died***
