Subject: 6.2 ready for friendly-testers groups

If you're in the friendly-testers groups, please update. If not,
please ignore this message....

The instructions are slightly different this time:

^P and login as root to deactivated workstation

	attach -n bldge40test-vsusr-62A bldge40test-vssys-62A	[vax]
 or	attach -n bldge40test-rtusr-62A bldge40test-rtsys-62A	[rt]

	/srvd/update_ws

	reboot

The main difference here is that "shutdown now" does *not* get run.
We found some problems in changes to init in 6.1C which cause problems
in single-user mode. Failing to run "shutdown now" will result in
some error messages from the update script and an extra fsck/reboot
done after rebooting; don't worry about these, they are expected.

The main change in this release is the conversion to X11R3. There are
also some critical (but mostly non-visible) bug fixes. Some of the
very noticable differences you are likely to see are:

	* Some X fonts (those not part of the current standard X
distribution) have been moved out of the default font path.
It is possible to access them by adding this directory to
	  the font path (/usr/lib/X11/fonts/old).

	* Font naming is different in many cases; see Ralph Swick's
recent message to `sysdev' and `appdev', available also in
the Sysdev_Info discuss meeting on menelaus.

	* The default fonts used by zwgc are among those moved out of
the font path; therefore, the `fixed' font is used instead.

As usual, release notes should be available soon. Please send any
comments (complaints, bug reports) to vs-testers or rt-testers.

Thank you.
