Pygmalion: An Experiment in Interactive Multi-Media
            Communication for SIGGRAPH '89: 31-July Thru 4-August

Would you like to help? Pygmalion is a multi-media message system,
designed especially for ACM SIGGRAPH '89 Conference and Exhibition,
by researchers at MIT and Digital Equipment Corporation's Cambridge
Research Laboratory. It needs you to make it happen!

Pygmalion will allow ACM SIGGRAPH '89 attendees to compose
both public and private mail messages containing:

  o text,
  o still graphic images,
  o and full-motion video.

Private messages are sent directly to users; public messages are stored
in a database and have annotations to help users find messages of interest.

-- Think of Pygmalion as an intimate channel to deliver YOUR message --

Can you help? We have both large and small jobs,
both prior to, during, and after the conference. For example,

o we need help gathering information for the database
(e.g. information about Boston, local restaurants,
sight-seeing, places to go, things to do),
o we need someone to take photographs,
o we need help entering data,
o we need technical and teaching assistance during the conference,
o and we need help striking the hardware setup and returning loaned
     equipment.

Finally, let me know if you have access to hardware (particularly write-once
videodiscs and drives) that could be lent for the conference (July 31-August 4,
with a week's lead time for equipment set up and integration).

The project is strictly volunteer -- a number of corporations and
individuals have donated time, money and equipment to make this a
memorable SUCCESS. Prominent acknowledgement of your support will be
provided: If you help, you will be SEEN at the Conference!

Please send me electronic mail or give me a call if you have
time or resources and would like to pitch in.

[Also, give me a little time to get back to you, until I get someone
like you to help coordinate volunteers.]

Thanks!
