What types of things are you involved in these days? I hope work and and school are totally consuming, you know the old saying, all work and no play.... It being winter, it is very much ski season for me. I have become reasonably good at both cross-county and downhill skiing. Any interest? I have experience teaching cross-country and could probably do a decent job teaching at downhill, so not knowing how is no excuse! Bye for now, John Luke P.S. I don't know if I ever told you were the "Luke" in my name came from. Luke Mills is my most distant know direct line ancestor. He was born in Virginia in the 1600s. If you count him as generation one I am generation 13. Since I was about 10 I have not cared for John very much. There are to many John's and other unnice things, like toilets and prostitutes customers, called John(s). It has occured to me for some time to change my name, but I was baffled as to what to change to. I tired of Gus years ago and nothing else came to mind. I realy liked the name Luke, but for no reason I can figure, I didn't want to be Luke Mills. One day in a flash it occured to me to stick something on the end of John; you know, double name stlye like they do in the south. I could use the double name John Luke! I liked sound of it right away. It also had the advantage of Luke start with L. My middle name used to be Leroy, my fathers first name. Neither of us like it and noone ever pronounces it right. By keeping the same middle initial, the change would be a lot easier to deal with. I decided to go with it. The official day of change was August 28, 1988, the day Sarah and I married.
