I think maybe I'm confused about user properties here.
Do you mean to say that right now, or as planned, I can use

append mark=urgent  ??

I haven't heard of append before, but that sounds like what I want.

If you're saying that the only way to do that equivalent is to
use

set urgency=10

then I can't agree that "any secretary would do" it.
Watchmakers, sure, but not your average non-programmer.
