video-hackers is now a public list.  You merely need to add yourself with
the mailmaint program (it is self-explanatory).

Incidentally, updating one's workstation is a task that everyone
should learn how to do...  The parallax workstation configuration is
now a standard athena release, and will be supported as such.  This
includes keeping track of the customizations that you make to your
workstation and making sure that these are easily reconstructed/not
removed by an update.  Be responsible for your own workstation.  There
are many people to ask about this.  

The golden rule about updating your workstation, is THINK FIRST.
Things which are nonstandard (such as files kept on /site) should be
saved somewhere before the update.  If you are not sure about
something, ask someone.

Messages to staff about updating workstations should be heeded, because 
it is dangerous to get too out of sync with the release schedule (since
system packs go away).  Also, bug reports about system software should
be with reference to the latest release.

I would NOT expect Paul to continue making custom updates to
workstations.  This was necessary in the past only because the 
parallax workstation was not standard.  Think of him as more of a 
consultant that anything else...
