Subject: 0.5 bin

I would say make the necessary change. I would suggest trying to make
the executable using the 0.5 (aka release 1, aka RCS version 10.0)
library. I know this is a major hasle but it seems to me it is
necessary since the current libraries are technically under testing.
But now that I think of it, there are probably only minor changes from
the final 0.5 library to the current one, so an alternative would beto
look at the source files for the library routines and find out what changes
have been made (using "rlog"). If you decide that no significant things have
changed then you should safely be able to use the current libraries.

Finally, was 0.5 an R2 version?
