Mumble. Well, this is not really a problem if pathset is installed in some place we can hard code into the alias. So, we add a call to where: alias pset 'if (x"`where pathedit | head -1 `" != "x" ) set path=`pathedit \!*`' We tried using something other than head (because head is not on the root filesystem) but we just couldn't properly quote a call to awk...
