This locker contains database packages that may be used freely at
 MIT, if not world-wide.  Check the particular package for copyright
 restrictions.  It has not been used much in the past, but we hope
 that that's about to change.  Maintainers include dkk and yandros@mit.

 Source trees are kept under src; installed versions are kept in a 
 subtree with an `obvious' name, since most of these packages expect
 to be installed in their own subdirectory.  (i.e. /mit/databases/pgsql).

  postgresql 

	PostgreSQL is a mostly-ANSI SQL-compliant RDBMS database
	server, from the Berkeley research product.  It has also been
	known as `postgres' and `postgres95', although the changes are
	significant.  Copyright terms are in the COPYRIGHT file, but
	are generally very amenable to use.

rdb	  Relational database coded in perl and still under development (8/94)
postgres  A regular code-for-it-in-C RDBMS.  I think.
msql	  A DBMS from Bond U in Australia.  v0.3 will add "join"...
