If you wish to use certain secure services, such as webSIS (Student
Information Services) and other certificate based services, you may
want to register for a second password associated with your athena
username.  You will be given the option to use this second password
instead of your primary password when you get a personal web
certificate.  (for more information, see http://web.mit.edu/is/help/cert/)

If you need an extra secure password, contact the Athena User Accounts
office in N42; you will need to come by in person with a picture ID.  

You will usually need to wait over night after registering for
your extra password before you are able to use it.  Occasionally
the nightly update may be delayed and it will take two nights for
your registration to go through.
