The file that contains all of your scribe commands must have a name which ends in '.mss', for example: paper.mss If you don't end it with ".mss", Scribe will give you an error. Scribe will read this file and create a new file which is suitable for printing. If you do not specify a device with the command @device, scribe will create a file called file.PS, which is suitable for printing on a PostScript printer.
