The place you want to look for info on how to use slitex is Appendix A
of the standard Latex manual - there's one in the Consulting Office,
if that's convenient.

Anyway, the way slitex works requires two different files, a main file
and then subfiles for different slides:

To use SliTeX, you should create a main file which contains the
following:

        \documentstyle[]{slides}

        \begin{document}

        \colors{red,black,green}

        \colorslides{myslide}
        \blackandwhite{plain}

        \end{document}

Note that there is no need to specify point size, it automatically comes
out large.  The \colors command specifies the colors that you will be
using in your slides.

The \colorslides{filename} command specifies that you want to create a
color slide which uses the file "filename.tex".  Likewise,
\blackandwhite{filename} is used for plain black and white slides.

In the slide file, you would have:

        \red
        \begin{slide}{red,blue}
          This is red text with two
          {\blue blue text here}

where the \red specifies the starting color to use for the text, and the 
\begin{slide}{red,blue} specifies the colors to use for inclusion within
the slide -- you can use colors like above.

To then finish and process your file, you should use "slitex":

        athena%  slitex main.tex
