NOTE: You should NOT send files larger than 100k. If the total size of
your uuencoded file comes close to this mark, you should split it up,
using the command "split". The syntax for "split" is:

        split filename output_file

That will break the file up into several different files with names
all starting with "output_file" followed by aa and so on. For example,

        split my_data newfile

would split up the file "my_data" into separate files named
"newfileaa", "newfileab", "newfileac", "newfilead", etc. You could
then mail the new files separately, and have the recipient "cat" them,
or otherwise join them, together.

The simplest way to mail a file, to yourself or anyone else, is to use
``mhmail''.  It mails the standard input to the addresses given as
arguments.  The format is:

	mhmail username < filename

For example, to send the file ``.login'' to user ``jqdoe'', type:

	mhmail jqdoe < ~/.login

The user will receive the file in the same manner as any other file.  This
file must not be executable binary.  (Type "file filename" if you are in
doubt.)  The header, which is usually about ten lines, must then be stripped
off.  A convenient way of doing this is to use 'tail', which takes the latter
portion of a file.  If the file in question is the current MH message, you
could type:

	show | tail +11 > file

You may need to vary that number if your header is slightly different.  Or,
you can just do:

	show > file

... and then edit 'file' using Emacs.

Another way is to use 'comp'. Once comp places you in the emacs editor, move
the emacs cursor to the location where you would like the file to begin. Then
type:

	Ctrl-x  i

Emacs will then prompt you (at the bottom of the window):

	Insert file: ~/Mail/

Emacs is assuming the location of the file is in your mail directory.  If this
is not the case delete the 'Mail/' part so that is appears like:

	Insert file: ~/

This means that emacs will look for the file in your home directory. If this
is the case, then type the name of the file:

	Insert file: ~/story.mss

Then when you are ready to send the file, type:

	Ctrl-x Ctrl-s
	Ctrl-x Ctrl-c

then you will be asked 'What now?' You may type 'send' to send the file,
'edit' to edit the file, 'quit' to cancel the request altogether, or '?'  for
a list of additional options.
