The Darkhold was brought to this plane ages ago by a nameless priest of Chthon, who compiled much of that god's magic into a single scroll, which was later bound into a book. The book was thought destroyed, but the pages themselves were magical, with deva bound into them that protected and hid them. Chthon summoned those deva to the Castle recently, where they hid themselves (the Castle's protective deva scrambled enough of them that nobody knows where they are). The spells in the Darkhold are written across continuous pages. Each page also has a cryptic spell bound into it whose name, spoken, is a pointer to the next page in linear order. Contained in the Darkhold(in some form or another, in this order): Page One: **** Koraha' Ophir starts with this*** "Let space and time no more remain," "Look ye over you vista; tis clearer than clearest crystal." Danse Morganna saurite Page Two: "With their unravelling, now dispel" "Three, ten, eleven, thirteen: How to cast light at the seat of all these numbers?" Lycanthropy Curse Page Three: "The borderline between this plane" "East of where the air is liquid cold, the two doors face; look in south, and down." Pervert Deva Nature Page Four: "And thine, Dark Lord, which men call Hell." "'Tis but a great puddle; the greyish lump to the east is tree-protected on its grassy sea." Vampirism Curse Page Five: "By Darkhold's lore, which men call black," "Frame east to west and vice versa; aim ye to northern face, and root." Disguise Nature Page Six: "By demon's honor, strongest binding," "A' front th' back forty, the mad cubist sleeps." Ritual of Unlife Page Seven: "By the road from which none can turn back," *** no clue; next page never reached it's keyed destination *** Anathema Page Eight: (Hawk Brightwind has this) "Away from light forever blinding," "Owls and pussycats travel for just over a year." Death at Range Page Nine: "By Etrigan, the ever-scarred," "Make her walk, and stair at the earthy prince." Blight Page Ten: "By Tarkis of the bloody sea," "Cross glass hall and flagstone sea; look to southern, base ivy!" Beginning of Forging Page Eleven: "And Iolanthe, whose flames have charred" "The old man stares at me, seeing but the book afore him. He stares at me; he sees nothing." Part Two of Forging Page Twelve: "The very skies, so mote it be!" **** no clue; the next page never got to it's keying site*** End of Forging Well, that's what's in it. IN runes. I can't type in them.
