IGNORE ALL OF THIS. NONE OF IT IS REAL. THE ELDER-GOD BINDING SPELL. Note: Essentially, this spell functions through the 10th level of reality, one that does not, in any otherwise practical sense, exist. It is the plane and the realm and the universe of essence, where all that is, was, will be and can never be are merely shadows of a more complete reality. Through invoking the forces of Existence, those who participate in the ritual may hope to supercede the powers of Beginnings and Endings, which are but an illusion of time. MATERIALS. The Six Totems of the World Man Beast Plant Earth Light Darkness A stone pedestal A large brazier Kindling Several bundles of fragrant herbs/spices. Nightshade leaves, 3 Belladona flowers, 1 A small metal or glass liquid-container (cup, bowl, whatever) Hot or boiling water A Soulcrystal. The Darkhold or the Book of the Vishanti (depending on the god to be bound). A living man (or woman). A living animal. A living plant. A virgin blade, never wielded in combat or used to shed blood. A knife. APPARATI The Chant of Inception The Chant of the World (+ the truenames of the totems) The Chant of Conjuration The Chant of Binding The Chant of Completion METHODS The actual ritual must be conducted in a place free of all outside magics, like a Chamber of Conjurations. Prior to the actual casting, the six totems must be placed in six locations [***THESE NEED TO BE DETERMINED***] around the Castle, in their proper orientations. The pedestal must be placed in the geometric center of the chamber. Upon it should be placed the brazier, within which the kindling should be set alight. Some fragrant herbs/spices should be added to the kindling; while they burn, the Chant of Inception should be performed. [NOTE: From this point forward, the ritual is empowered. If it is then ended without the Chant of Completion, the power remains free and bizaare (and unpleasant) consequences will occur] The container should be placed within the flame, and the remainder of the scented herbs should be placed within it. These may be in a porous bag or loose. The power of each totem is then invoked by the Chant of the World. They must be invoked simultaneously, requiring six voices directed towards the six locations. Throughout the remainder of the spell, one voice must be continually performing the Chant of the World, alternating the totems, and facing in the appropriate direction. It needn't be the same voice. If it stops, the ritual is stopped and must be started again (if this is possible). The nightshade and belladona should be crushed, and thrown into the container. The boiling water should be added to the container, and allowed to overflow and extinguish the flames. The brazier is removed from the pedestal, and placed next to it; the Soulcrystal put in its place. Equidistant from the pedestal should be placed the plant, the animal, and the human. They should not be physically bound by any means and must be conscious. Atop the soulcrystal should be placed the tome or the orb. The leader of the ritual, wearing the knife and the sword, should enter this tetrahedron. Using the knife, he should chop off the plant at the roots and place three of its leaves in the cup in the brazier; then stab the animal cleanly through the heart and cut off fur, scales, claws, or some other appropriate part (a very small amount) and place it in the cup. The human should then drink the liquid within the cup. HYPOTHESES: When Kalerege originally performed this spell, he used deva to perform the other parts of the ritual, and picked up a resident of an insane asylum as the victim. The sacrifice died, of course, and the results were otherwise as described below--except that the patient afterwards remained in a catatonic state that Kalerege never realized wasn't death. Thus he believes that the ritual ends in the death of the victim. RESULTS: The human, of course, keels over and dies. At this point, the crystal begins to glow and build up in intensity. The leader of the ritual will feel an impulse to smash the crystal with the sword... If he does so, the sword will travel through the tome and the crystal and become embedded in the pedestal itself. The crystal will explode in a flash of white (for Tualoha) or black (for Chthon).
