Oakthorn Collective. HISTORY 6 years ago, two Left Hand witches were assigned the job of infiltrating the Realm, discovering what had happened to the last group (cf. hand.black) and hooking up with and/or replacing them. These two young ladies, one a biologist and one an herbalist (by training), came over to the Realm and set up shop as "healers." They also started insinuating themselves into the Realm political structure. At the same time, they attracted a small number of apprentices, mostly innocents who thought witchcraft was neat. They became the core of an organization called the Claw, and our two witchy friends started on a brainwashing treatment. Unfortunately, or fortunately, they ran into Nahum, a cop who worked beat on their territory. Nahum was no fool, and more to the point, had a fair knowledge of witchcraft and druidicism. He caught on real fast to what was going on, and had the two young ladies arrested for treasonous activities. They were summarily executed (by, as it happens, Iared the Executioner) However, they had by this time attracted a bunch of apprentices and witch wanna-be's, all of whom had learned just enough to be dangerous. Nahum couldn't just let them go, but they hadn't done anything wrong-- they were just interested in learning the ways of witchcraft. Nahum figured, hey, what can be taught for evil can also be turned to good...and took upon himself the rest of their training. Thus was formed the Oakthorn Collective, a band of witches and druids who essentially existed to learn about nature and help living things enjoy life. This was a VERY loosely-formed organization, essentially a 4-H club for witches. One girl went on to study magic, having decided she would rather stay in control of her power. She became a powerful mage, and took the name Segwina. Eventually, she became Representative to the House of the Spear, and was slated to become Heirophant. Now she's dead. Four days ago, Chthon and Tualoha both sent out a summoning call to their deva in the world. Possibly connected, Nahum had a gaeic dream that basically said: "this week is a cusp, the castle is important, the gods are getting uppity, I want my realm back!" So anyway, the Collective wants a) to find out who killed Segwina and make him/her pay b) to discover the nature of this cusp on the Castle c) to discover the reasons behind the Tualohic and Chthonic summons d) to give Gaea her realm back e) to stop this stupid war All files in the directory /mit/abstract/Archives/Old_castles, and all files in any subdirectories thereof, and any materials in the "abstract" locker pertaining to the game "Castles in the Sky" as run for the MIT Assassin's Guild in the Spring of 1989 are copyright to Andrea Brandford and David Policar and are not available for public use or viewing.
