@part(darkholders, root = "/mit/abstract/Characters/sheet.format") @subsection(The Darkholders) It is told that in ages past, the Three Gods fashioned Tomes which forged their power and gathered their lore within the World. The Darkhold is the Tome of Chthon, the Book of Chaos, the @i(chaosgarral). It is the repository of all black magic and dark ritual in the history of man. The Darkhold was destroyed during the Holy Wars, or so say the ignorant. Yet how may one destroy that which the Dark Lord has fashioned? Indeed, the @i(chaosgarral) exists still, though its pages are flung far and wide over the World, hidden in shadow and darkness. Or, rather, they were. You are the Darkholders, a select group of priests and followers of the Dark Lord, destined to be the vanguard of his Dark Army. In your hands will be gathered the most powerful weapon of all, and in your souls lies the strength to use it, so the Universe may achieve its ultimate destiny. For the Darkhold is more than simply a book of lore. It has great power over the forces of Chaos, against the agents of Order, which it can grant to he who holds it. Through the actions of your Darkholder Prime, the pages of the Darkhold have been gathered upon the Castle. Each of you holds, or has held, a portion of the Darkhold, through you its power may flow. And with that power the Creation Gate may be destroyed and in its place a Hellgate fashioned, that shall increase your power and that of the Army you lead. With the Hellgate in place, no force shall prevent you from bringing the Universe to its ultimate destiny. On the other hand, your enemies have placed a small obstacle in your path. The Tome remains scattered, though on the Castle nonetheless. To achieve the ultimate goal of your Lord Chthon, that weapon must be found and gathered together, to be used in the great ritual known to your Prime. Then you may shake off the cloak of secrecy that shrouds you and come together to perform that final task. Until that time, secrecy is still a potent weapon. It is likely that those who know of your order oppose its purpose, so be wary. Seek not your fellow Darkholders, lest you be forced to betray them, but rather obey the orders of your Prime, who shall contact you with the phrase "Do not go gentle into that dark night" and the codename: While awaiting the orders of your Prime, seek out the agents of the Goddess Tualoha, and her offspring Gaea, who would interfere with your Lord's will, and seek those who would aid in it. You are united and strong, none shall stand in the way of your destiny. All hail Chthon!
