Creating a contact
A contact is a person or organization you correspond with. You can store information about contacts such as job titles, phone numbers, addresses, e-mail addresses, Internet e-mail addresses, and notes.
- Open your Address Book by clicking the Open my Address Book button on the Agenda toolbar.
- Click the New Contact button on the Address Book toolbar.
- Select the General tab in the New Contact dialog box.
- Enter the contact's first and last name.
- In the Address area, enter the person's Business and Home information. You can toggle between the two options to enter the information.
- You can include the person's e-mail address, Web page, additional phone number and other information. Select the appropriate options from the drop-down lists.
- You can specify your relationship to the person by using the Relationship drop-down list.
- Click Categories to assign a category for the contact. Categories are used to classify your contacts and can be used to filter entries in the Address Book View. See Creating a contact category for more information.
- Select the Business tab to enter information such as the person's title, company and department.
- Select the Personal tab to enter information such as the person's birthday, wedding anniversary or add custom dates.
- Click the New Daily Note button next to any of the dates you specified if you want to create a repeating daily note in your Agenda to remind you about a special occasion.
- Select the Notes tab to enter additional information pertaining to this contact. You can enter up to 30,000 characters in the Notes field.
- You can also define your own labels for the Custom fields and enter the appropriate information. See Setting custom fields for your contacts for more information.
