Signing in

The Sign-In dialog box enables you to access your Agenda in online or offline mode. To use your Agenda online, you must be connected to the calendar server. When using your Agenda offline, you can only view the Agendas you previously downloaded (see Downloading your Agenda for more information). You can still create and edit Agenda entries but the changes are not immediately applied to the server. The server is only updated the next time you connect to the server and perform a reconciliation between your online and offline Agendas.

Unless automatic sign-in is enabled, the Sign-In dialog box opens when you start Oracle Calendar.

  1. In the User name field, enter your user name or your user ID. Your system administrator will provide you with this information. You can search for your name by clicking the Search button.

  2. Enter your password in the Password field. Depending on the authentication mechanism used by your connection, a password may not be required.

  3. To work online, you can select a pre-configured calendar server connection from the list in the Connect to field of the Sign-In dialog box. If there are no pre-configured server connections, click Other and see Creating or modifying server connections for more information.

To work offline, select Offline from the list.

Signing in as a resource

Follow the steps above, but enter the name of the resource in the User name field and the password of the resource in the Password field. Resource names must be preceded by r:, re:, or res:. You can also search for a resource name by clicking the Search button.
