Creating or modifying server connections

You can create a new connection profile or modify existing connection profiles from the Connection Manager dialog box.

To create a server connection:
  1. From the Tools menu, select Manage Connections. You can also open the Connection Manager dialog box when you log in to Oracle Calendar by clicking Other from the Sign-in dialog box.

  2. Click New.

  3. Enter a name for the connection profile.

  4. Enter information you want associated with this profile in the Comment field.

  5. Enter the calendar server name, which is provided by your system administrator.

  6. Click Lookup to perform a search on the server to determine the nodes and authentication, compression and encryption (ACE) schemes available. If the Connection Configuration dialog box opens, select one of the following options and click Configure to automatically configure your server connection:

If you want to manually configure your server connection, click No from the Connection Configuration dialog box. Select the appropriate node from the Node drop-down list and select the ACE settings you want to use from the available drop-down lists in the Connection Editor dialog box.
  1. In certain scenarios, you can select a node and method of authentication, compression and encryption for your connection from the available drop-down lists. Contact your system administrator for more information on these options. If the Server defined option appears, you do not have the necessary permissions to configure this setting. If the Not available on this server option appears, contact your system administrator.

To modify a server connection:
  1. From the Tools menu, select Manage Connections.

  2. Select the name of the connection profile that you would like to modify and click Edit. The Connection Editor dialog box opens and displays the connection settings.

  3. Make the necessary changes. You may want to do another Lookup when modifying a server connection, in order to see whether there have been changes to the ACE mechanisms.
