Configuring a master node connection
(launch the application | click Other in the Sign-in dialog | New | click
Lookup)
To configure a master node connection:
- If the server for which you are performing a Lookup has a master node, the Connection Configuration dialog box opens.
- Select one of the following options:
- Configure at login from user name: Configures your server connection everytime you log in to Oracle Calendar. If you choose this option, you cannot set authentication, compression and encryption (ACE) options. The server's default ACE settings will be used. Configuring your connection at login eliminates the need for you to reconfigure your connection if you are moved from one calendar server node to another.
- Configure for specific user: Configures your server connection immediately and only once. You must enter your user name or user ID or you can perform a search for your name. If you choose this option, you can specify which ACE settings you want to use from the available drop-down lists. If you are moved from one calendar server node to another and you selected this option, you will have to reconfigure you server connection.
- Click Configure.
To manually select a local calendar server node:
- Click No in the Connection Configuration dialog box to manually select your calendar server node.
- Select the appropriate node from the Node drop-down list.
- Select the ACE settings you want to use from the available drop-down lists.
