REQUESTING A BOOK ALREADY ON LOAN If you need a book that is currently on loan, you can place a HOLD or RECALL AND HOLD on the book at any library circulation desk in person or by phone. A HOLD means that the current patron may not renew the book; when the book is returned, you will be notified and it will be placed on the hold shelf for you and held for a period of one week. A RECALL HOLD reduces the loan period of the book for the current user to two weeks. Again, the book will be placed on hold for you when it is returned and held for you for a period of one week.
