RSC (RetroSpective Collection)

The RetroSpective Collection (RSC) is a storage facility near Central
Square for older and less frequently used materials.  You may ask a
Reference Librarian (or Circulation Assistant after reference hours)
to order the item for delivery to the MIT library of your choice.

Normally, if you place the request before 11 AM, the item is delivered
the before 3 PM the same day.  If you place the request after 11 AM,
delivery is made the following afternoon (or Monday if you request
after 11 AM on Friday.)  You may request up to six items per day.

Given the six-item limit, you may choose to go directly to the RSC to
photocopy the material or borrow it.  The RSC is in Building N57, at
the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and State Street, one block
north of the MIT Museum.  If you choose to visit the site, you must
call ahead, 253-7040.  The building is secured and you must be
admitted by the RSC staff.

The RSC is open Monday-Friday, 9-5.
