HARVARD LIBRARIES -- PHYSICAL ACCESS

Borrowing privileges at the Harvard College Library are available for
MIT faculty, research staff, and graduate students. Go to any MIT
Reference Desk for eligibility verification.  Harvard charges $3.00
for production of a photo ID.

Borrowing is available at Cabot, Fine Arts, Kummel, Littauer, Loeb
Music, Tozzer, and Widener libraries.  On-site access only is
available at Harvard-Yenching, Hilles, Houghton, and Lamont libraries.

In addition, the following Harvard Faculty of Arts and Sciences
Libraries honor the Harvard College Library (HCL) Special Borrower Cards for
borrowing or access:  Biological Laboratories, Blue Hill
Meteorological, Center for Astrophysics, Center for European Studies,
Center for International Affairs, Documentation Center on
Contemporary Japan, Gordon McKay, Russian Research Center, and Wolbach
(astrophysics) libraries.  

The HCL card is not honored at Baker (business), Countway (medicine),
Gutman (education), Kennedy School of Government, Law, and Loeb Design
libraries.  To obtain a letter of introduction for on-site use, apply
at the appropriate subject library's reference desk.  Letters of
introduction are written to help individuals pursue MIT-related
research after other area library resources have been exhausted.  We
cannot grant letters of introduction for leisure reading purposes.

For access to Countway, Gordon McKay, Physics Research, and Wolbach,
apply at the Science Library Reference Desk.  PLEASE NOTE: Check
Boston Library Consortium holdings before applying for a Countway
card.  Countway should be used only when materials are available at no
other local library.
