HOW TO LINK AND UNLINK ITEMS USING COPY, PASTE, AND CUT Use the Copy and Paste commands to link information from other folders to your own folders. For instance, you can find the folder Information Systems Publications in the Computing menu and the Publications menu. The Information Systems Publications (IS Pubs) folder is maintained in the Computing menu by members of Information Systems who have Provider access to the Computing folder. To make the IS Pubs folder also appear in the Publications menu, a provider with access to the folder copied the IS Pubs folder and pasted it into the Publications folder on the Main Menu. To copy and paste (link) items. 1. Select the item you want to copy to your folder by clicking on the item to highlight it. 2. Click on Copy under the Provider menu or type Meta-C Result: The highlighted item is now copied. 3. Select the folder into which you want to paste the item by clicking on it to highlight. 4. Click on Paste under the Provider menu or type Meta-V. Result: The copied item is now linked to your folder and appears in the listing in your folder. To remove a linked item: 1. Select the item IN YOUR FOLDER that you want to unlink by clicking on it to highlight. 2. Click on Cut under the Provider menu or type Meta-X. Result: The highlighted item is now unlinked and should not be listed in your folder anymore.
