But even "Seinfield" repeats are doing well. Last week's 14.6 rating:23 share (a ratings point represents 921,000 homes; a share is the percent of sets in use) were the best numbers since the season premiere. `CLOSER LOOK' BOOSTS NBC: Faith Daniels is stepping down as "Today" news anchor so she can spend more time working on NBC's daytime talk show,"A Closer Look." Despite "Look's" sometimes tabloidy manner, the show has become a moneymaker for NBC News, boosting NBC's third-place daytime lineup. ALL-GAME CHANNEL CONSIDERED: The Family Channel is considering starting a new basic cable service called the Game Channel. It would offer 24 hours of game shows. No word yet on its debut. But it is a tough environment for new channels. The 10-month old Monitor Channel will shut down by June 15 unless a buyer is found. Cable watchers are confident about a sale. THREE SHOWS RENEWED: CBS said Friday that it has picked up two year's worth of "Evening Shade" episodes. ABC has committed to 22 more episodes of "The Commish." Over at NBC, "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" has been renewed for the next season. ADS RAISE CONCERN: The Pakistani government has canceled plans to sell foreign exchange bearer bonds in the USA. By Memorial Day, more than 30,000 "talking cans" will be for sale in 12-packs of Coors brand beers, ADWEEK reports. The voice, triggered by a light-activated mechanism when the can is opened, tells lucky drinkers what prizes they've won. It also tells them to call the 800 number to claim their booty. RADIO REVENUES HAVE STABILIZED: Local and national radio revenues appear to have stabilized after a downward trend that has lasted more than a year, according to a report by the Radio Advertising Bureau. While the numbers for January were mostly flat, there was a 0.7% increase in local revenues over the same period last year. The Southwest region saw the biggest increase, with local revenues up 8.3%. NATIONAL REVENUES DOWN SLIGHTLY: National radio revenues declined 3.3% in January, compared to the same period in 1991, says a report by the Radio Advertising Bureau. "We are beginning to see signs which indicate that the recession's effects on radio, which prevailed through much of 1991, are coming to an end," RAB Persident Gary Fries is quoted as saying in Broadcast magazine. ROY ROGERS ACCOUNT AWARDED: Hardee's Food Systems has named Jordan, McGrath, Case & Taylor of New York to handle its $15 million to $20 million Roy Rogers advertising account.
