TULANE FALLS TO S. FLORIDA:
   No. 15 Tulane was the latest upset victim in men's college
basketball, losing 81-76 to South Florida Monday. Also, No. 22 St.
John's beat Providence 72-68 in overtime to move into a virtual
tie for first place in the Big East. St. John's is within 26
percentage points of Georgetown and has won seven in a row. In
other games: No. 25 UTEP 65, So. Utah 57; No. 2 Kansas 84, No. 23
Oklahoma 65.

LENDL, PRPIC WIN MATCHES:
   No. 3 Ivan Lendl and No. 5 Goran Prpic won first-round matches
Monday in the ABN-AMRO World Tennis Tournament at Rotterdam,
Netherlands. Lendl, who has dropped from fourth to eighth in the
ATP standings in the past month, beat Jan Gunnarsson 6-7 (4-7),
6-1, 6-0. Prpic beat Thomas Enqvist 7-5, 6-3. Belgian Bart Wuyts
upset No. 8 Jonas Svensson 3-6, 7-5, 6-3.

OLSON CASE SETTLED:
   On the day the case was scheduled to go to trial, sportswriter
Lisa Olson settled her sexual harassment lawsuit Monday against
the New England Patriots and owner Victor Kiam. "There is a
financial settlement, but the amount and details are
confidential," said Michael Avery, Olson's attorney. Olson said
