The USA totaled 11 medals - vs. six in 1988 - with nine going to U.S. women. Four of the 1992 medals were earned in sports that were not included in the 1988 Games - short-track speedskating and freestyle moguls skiing. Germany came out on top with 26 medals. LEBLANC TO GET SHOT: U.S. Olympic hockey goalie Ray LeBlanc, who helped the team finish fourth, appears headed to the NHL - at least briefly. LeBlanc belongs to the Chicago Blackhawks, and general manager Bob Pulford has plans to bring him up from Indianapolis of the International League for at least one game. Also, he is expected to get a shot with the NHL expansion Tampa Bay franchise next year. WAKE FOREST UPSETS DUKE: No. 1 Duke lost its second game of the season Sunday, 72-68 to Wake Forest. The Blue Devils (21-2) were outscored 15-1 in the final 5:19. YAWKEY'S CONDITION WORSENS: Boston Red Sox principal owner Jean Yawkey's condition worsened Sunday, according to officials at Massachusetts General Hospital, where she is being treated after suffering a stroke last Thursday. Hospital spokesman Martin Bander said Yawkey's condition was downgraded to very serious Sunday afternoon. NIXON TO MISS FIRST 18 DAYS: Otis Nixon of the Atlanta Braves will be allowed to play in exhibition games, but will sit out the first 18 days of the regular season as he finishes serving last year's 60-day suspension for drug use.
