She was the first woman to serve on the Hall of Fame board of directors, and twice prevented attempts to change control of the Red Sox. SUITS ALLOWED UNDER TITLE IX: The Supreme Court Wednesday voted unanimously to allow lawsuits under the 1972 Title IX ruling that prohibits sex bias in school programs - including athletics. The law bars sex discrimination at any education program that receives federal aid. Justice Byron White said when Congress wrote the Title IX law in 1972, it did not intend to limit victims' remedies. FIXING PROBE ENDS: Prosecutors in Indianapolis Wednesday ended their investigation into a claim that Mike Tyson's rape trial was fixed, concluding their was nothing to support the charge. The prosecutor's office interviewed jurors and alternates after an Indianapolis attorney reported overhearing a juror say the verdict was "rigged."
