Searching for a Common Object

The Search function allows you to search for a particular Common Object that you want to edit, delete, or rename.

Searching for a Common Object can be done using the following operations:

  1. Entering a Common Object's name or part of the name in the Search String field.
  2. Choosing a subtype from the Search Subtype menu.
  3. Choosing the screen you want to search. Use the Search on Screen menu.

    4. Note: Because Common Objects can be defined for a specific Screen, Search on Screen allows you to search a specific Screen for a specific object. This feature is helpful if you have two different Common Objects with the same name, but that are defined for two different Screens.

  4. Choosing the Search button.
  5. Selecting an item from the Results combo box. Selecting an item activates the Edit, Delete, and Rename buttons.
