Setting Up HTTP Proxies

The HTTP proxy can filter Java applets in Web pages using the JAR hash value, the JAR signature, or both. Additionally, the proxy can simply allow all Java or disallow all Java in web pages.

Setting up HTTP proxies requires the following steps:

1. Configuring the browser to use the HTTP proxy.
2. Creating a service object for the HTTP proxy for HTTP proxy service. See also Adding a Common Object.
3. Defining the HTTP proxy data. Use the Type menu in the Common Objects area to define proxy data. The proxy data you can define for the HTTP proxy includes:
• Jar signatures
• Jar hashes
4. Defining the proxy rules. Use the packet filter Rule Definition dialog to define proxy rules.
5. Saving changes.
6. Rebooting the system.
