Routing Mode

Routing Mode is one of the two modes supported by SunScreen. A summary of the other mode, Stealth Mode, is also available.

You use SunScreen in Routing Mode if you need routing functions in addition to firewall capabilities or if firewall visibility is not a concern for you.

SunScreen Routing Mode functions as both a router and a firewall, with at least two exposed IP interfaces. This configuration is visible to traceroute and other network utilities.
