Adding a Remote Administration Station
Using Self-Generated Screen Certificates
Adding a remote administration station involves the following basic steps:
On the Administration station:
-
Generating a certificate.
On the Screen:
-
Generating a certificate and creating a certificate object.
You can generate a certificate and create the screen's certificate object
during installation.
-
Adding a Screen certificate to the
Screen object.
-
Creating a remote certificate object using the
Associate MKID dialog.
-
Creating a remote administration access rule using the
Administrative Access tab.
-
Activating the Screen.
Note: A Screen can use only one certificate for remote administration. Multiple
Administration Stations can manage a Screen, but each Administration Station
must use the same Screen certificate. So if you use multiple Administration
Stations, set the encryption level of all certificates used for remote
administration equal to that of the certificate with the lowest encryption
level (for example, 512 bit).
