On the weekend of Aug.11th.Oriilia Ontario has a big boat show
that has been going on for many years.
I am trying to find out if there is enough interest for me to
invite and organige a Amphicar meet in conjuction with this show
(like Mt Dora's in Fl)
Orillia is 100 miles north of Toronto
Great ramps
lots of lakes
1000s of spectators
I have been going to the show with mine for years and when I ask
why they came to the show they say.IN HOPE OF SEE THE AMPFICAR>
for a map showing the area go to my web page and click map
(www.hoseboat.net/gshouseboat/)
for more on the show go to
(www.orillia.com)
then click on port of Orillia
the click on Center of power boat and cotage show.
THE Chamber has Roughly oked it and have a small motet that will host us if
I get back to him early.

My passengers get worried when we are in the water and the fuel gauge registers empty. Years ago I converted to neg. ground and the only thing that did not work good is the fuel gauge. I remember someone mention that you could change the internal wiring of the gauge and it would work . Does anyone have any details on this. Regards Penguin

Just for easy future reference, Gord's info below has just been added to the
Club's Events Calendar at http://www.amphicar.com/calendar.htm.

Personally, one of these days when both of our "love spawn" can swim pretty
well (that's right: "both"...Tania and I are expecting a daughter at the end
of April) , I will be pondering mightily upon a nice houseboat vacation care
of Gord (see http://www.houseboat.net/gshouseboat). A week or two on a
houseboat followed by a nice little Amphi cabal...Now THAT'S a vacation,
folks!

At 11:45 this afternoon, Speedvision finally ran the segment ! It was great ! My compliments to Dave, Mark and Billy for a job well done.
The show they ran it on was Car Crazy. I did not see a show listing for the remainder of today but check your listings for tomorrow.
  Again, good job guys!

David

Very interesting stories, I would be interested to find out if they,
especially the first one is true. Five miles out, seems like a long
way in an Amphicar.
Don't you have a birthday today? Happy Birthday Cheers.

The Second Annual Swim with Dave is shapeing up nicely. Saturday in and
out on ramp. Then when all have arrived a cruise up river to The South
Shore Boat Club. This is about three miles. They have full service bar
and restaurant. Working with Spring Valley boat club there will be a
dinner at 6pm. Reservations are needed for dinner. We hope to have some
type of evening entertainment. Later Dave the Wave

Mike, be careful, you should really call the tool hire (rental?) shop and
get the proper removal tool, they do exist. I think there are two holes that
you can use either side of the nut if you make a square bracket but DONT use
a gear puller on the outside as it will damage the white plastic - and it
will annoy you forever more !

Sometimes the wheel is almost loose and just needs a pull with a bit of a
wobble, other times it's really tight - no logic !

David Chapman

ps It's the same steering wheel as an early VW bug if the hire shop come
back with the line, we don't do stuff for boats !

This is one way. However don't try this at home. It gave me one heck of a

Mike:
I've got a steering wheel puller for US and Import cars. I'd be glad to send it to you if you want to use it. If so, send me your address on or off line. Its' easy to use and is the only way to really do the job.

Gerald,

I wish it was Chuckie. I think the 83 year old driver that turned into a
driveway in front of me with no warning while I was driving @ 50 mph could
have been the little monster.

Remember, "Keep the polished side UP"
